So there I was, minding my own business adding coven codes when a message appeared stating that a coven had rejected a previous invite! That got me thinking as to why so I pose this question: what's caused you to rejected an invite before?

If your level is close to theirs, they take it as a threat; that you'll attack your own kind with their name available to attack whenever you please from your "coven" list.

I've gotten to where I've started doing that. I've been attacked almost exclusively by werewolves lately. I've found 2 of them in my pack list. Scandalous! Part of the game though and so is throwing them out of my pack and never inviting them back!

I agree. I have rejected an invite before because the guy was previously in my coven, attacked me, kicked out and invited me again; no three strikes rule here!  There are plenty of other "not-team killers" out there willing to band together.

My entire clan accepts all invites except those we have previously ejected due to "team-killing" (e.g. using their member list as their war list)

I reset my game recently, and quickly added codes. However I found that I was only getting 1xp on my kills because my pack was so large, regardless if I only attacked a group of one, with only one of mine equipped (I was trying different ways to get that extra xp) So I wanted to see if I could remove a member of my pack and add them back. (Hoping I could remove them all, and just attack groups of one to level faster) I tested it, and found that when I added him back, I got a message saying that I was rejected by him.

A while back I was also careless on the slayers list, and for a while attacked my own kind if they had high bounties. When adding codes, I saw quite a few "Rejected" coming back to me. I'm guessing if they remove you, or you remove them, you two can never make up and be buddies again
