Here's what will happen. You will get screwed!

The new update totally screwed the game.... I used to get hundreds of million from attacks... even after I bought all the new weapons (the strongest ones) I barely get a million or two.

I was playing on attack strategy but that is totally screwed now.

It's the new way the computer will choose the weapon you use automatically. Instead of using the best defensive weapon on defense and the best attacking weapon on attack, it will add the attack and defense of your weapons and select the one with the highest total. So if I have a sword that has 3 attack and 4 defense and an axe that has 1 attack and 5 defense, it will use the sword on attack and defense because it has a total value of 7 as opposed to the axe that has a total value of 6.

I'm in the same boat as deliverance. I dumped all my other weapons and chose the highest rated (new) weapons, but now I only get thousands and low mills, not even past 5 mil. I used to get over 1bil on certain people.
Granted I bought the higher attack/defense weapons with the lower upkeep, but it's still BetteR in stats than let's say the old gyrocopter and harpoon and shotgun combos. So is the new system biased toward your upkeep cost and not the A/D combos, because that's what it seems like.

And to top it off with the new degrade system on buildings it's almost impossible to make any money now.

And what do I do with dragon eggs now?

It's tough to make money but possible still. You have to be pretty vigilant about repairing every hour. I've gotten it to where my repair timer starts when my royalties timer ends. So I log on, repair, and bank. I'm making $4 bil per hour. With this system, I bank around $1.5 bil per hour. Not nearly as good as it was, but I'm still making money.

Wow, a vicious lack of posting here in the strategy section...probably because nobody cares to try and come up with a strategy anymore.  Those who tried after the 1st major update got screwed with the next update if they sunk all their money in repairs or sold off all their land.

The weapons, armor and vehicles seem to still have whacked-out stats that might get "adjusted" at some point down the road and it is anyone's guess as to what that adjustment might be.

AfterShock acts like they have a "big picture" view of where they want these changes to go but based on how they make updates, it seems more like a single guy in a basement that decides to crank out whatever changes he makes when he feels like it (usually during a drunken binge it seems like).

Very irritating.

The only strategy now is to be an overlord, bank all your royalties, and use quests to level. Werewolves have been de-clawed and neutered. I feel like half a man...
