or is it just me?  I used to get a kill about one half of the time that I tried, maybe it would take 20 minutes.  This week I've been playing non stop, and haven't gotten any.  Has there been changes to the calculations? Maybe it has to do with more people going to the slayers to make money?  anyway it sucks because I have always been able to thrive in this game on my attacks, and its just not happening anymore.

They changed the timer as well as the amount of damage I believe, so it takes a little longer now, even a lot longer if you are competing with other players for the same target.

Basically you sort of have to concentrate and keep pressing the assassinate button. If you are a pro at it, just figure out the timer and go for it.

Last I tried the new system it took me between 30min to 1 hr depending on how many other ppl were trying to collect on the same bounty.

They've randomized the timer a bit.  The longest i have had to wait it 9 minutes between hits, the shortest is about 5 seconds.  Of course, if you farm out the hits a little, hit three different targets for a while, build up the hits on two and then go in for the kill on the third, you can always go back to the others for a quick kill when the timer resets.  That's assuming they don't get killed or the bounty expires before that.

The days of random acts of murder are over I think.  You've really got to dedicate yourself to the craft.

I find it easy with these chain bounties.

A question though- is there a way to cheat death from the bounty hunter? Or is it a done deal, he completes his chain and wins. If I healed before his last attack, would he still kill me?

I'm pretty sure you're done once the final attack goes through - your health is irrelevant.

I can verify that.  I had one guy on top of me but I kept him at bay by attacking somebody as soon as my health reached 20 but I leveled up as soon as I attacked somebody and before I could get my health down, the very next attack killed me (My health was at 125 when he attacked the 5th time)

Dude, that's the worst possible scenario.  I was out tonight with very limited and incredibly slow access.  I was on the slayers list when I realized I only had 18 Exp until leveling.  I got it to 1 and left the game alone for another 2+ hours.  Didn't get killed (thanks to help from friends keeping my health low) and was able to level, use all my blood and 80% of my strength before finally getting taken out.

Uh, yeah, but every hit included a loss for me - both in the win/loss column and a bunch of gold...and the most it would possibly involve is one shot every 10 minutes.  The reality is that if someone happened to see me healthy scrolling through the slayers or rampage list they would take a shot at me.  Hardly what I would call padding my stats...

I do this with friends, too and I don't consider it stat padding either since there is no "most survival" list or anything like that. The intention is starkly different IMO.

lumpy your right i agree but as a respect thing goes your stats look way better the less deaths you have no? i hear everyone on the nazi forum applauding it i would say it is a form of padding

Well, this is a mmorpg (and emphasis on massively multi-player), so I think the point is to be able to interact with other gamers for both good and eveil purposes as a group (for example, sticking up for your own race) and that includes helping others out. As for stat padding tho, I think it's all in the intention and the frequency as well.

Say that I ask a friend to kill me, I in turn will be adding to their slay stats but they'll be doing me a favour as a friend because I do not wish to defend the bounty for reasons such as  I need to go out, I need to sleep and so on. If I were to do that 4 times a day 7 days a week, I would prolly be contributing to unfair stat padding.

With regard to the respect factor, for me at least, I don't look at the famed empires list and automatically respect anyone and everyone that's on it. Like the old saying goes, respect has be earned, right? I'd need to know their playing style a little bit more in detail than just looking at their numbers.
