Reuters report:

August 3rd, 2009 - Aftershock game applications for the iPhone and iPod touch are being boycotted by players in an attempt to get the company to address the players concerns.  A spokesperson for the company said the company was not concerned and the actual players boycotting were a small number of the overall players base and that most players love their games.  They offered us access to their forum where they said we could see for ourselves the wonderful comments players are making about their games.  We could not find any life on the forums so we tried to post comments ourselves but those post were deemed off topic.  Aftershock further went on to say that they in turn would retaliate with a strike of their own and boycott their own forums and not respond to customers.  So far their boycott has had little impact as their customers were already use to this treatment.

   Well, in a round-about-way.  Isn't that WHY we're boycotting.  I was just having some fun while on lunch.  Something to kill time.

btw, the line about the number of players is something they said once in the forums about us (the players that actually use their forums being only a small percentage)

I thought theywould have also! I thought they were going to lock us out of the apps

I don't think they can lock us out.  They only thing they might be able to do is run a "system maintenance" and delete all the inactive accounts...

Seeing their boycott was having little to no effect, Aftershock decided to do something that was sure to get players attention.  They are installing a New Update that requires users to download the app from the iTunes store - Aftershock wanted to add a further requirement that the app receive at least 4 stars prior to the download but Apple refused to allow it.  A spokesperson for Aftershock said "We are always striving to find new ways to improve our games.  Now you can actually loose random family members and equipment in fights!  Thank you and enjoy playing!"  Aftershock also put Reuters in touch with one of their players that they choose randomly.  The player that goes by the name of Papanino said "This is the best update yet! I'm sure everyone will love it!  Thank you and good day to you sir!"
